Coronavirus (COVID-19) Updates

Better Health will remain open for osteopathic treatment consultations with Dr Sam McCarthy (Ost) and Dr Luke Rickards (Ost).

Frequently asked questions:

Why are we still open?

The government has advised that allied health treatment, including osteopathy, is considered an essential service. Yes, that means it is still legal to leave your home to attend an osteopathy appointment. The last thing that GPs need right now is extra caseload from people with pain issues, so we are viewed as providing an important community service.

We understand that not all allied health services have remained open, but we intend to do our best to provide continuity of care during this difficult time.

How are we responding to changing public health policy and safety measures?

We have always maintained strict compliance with infection control guidelines, so in most areas it is operations as usual. We have made some additional changes though, including constant cleaning procedures throughout the common areas in the clinic, hand sanitisers available, reconfigured waiting area to ensure social distancing (you can also sit on the verandah outside), minimising touching of all surfaces (no more magazines, no need to sign HICAPS slips, the front door kept open). All staff are maintaining strict limitation of social contact. We can also wear a face mask during treatment on request.

Of course, we also advise you to reschedule appointments if you do not feel well in any way.

Can I speak with you regarding further questions or assistance?

Of course! Please do call us on 9389 3689 if you have any questions regarding our operations during this time, or if you need some extra assistance or reassurance.

Warm regards,
your Team at Better Health.
